The objective of this project is to develop a new class of Ultra High Durable Concrete (UHDC) material that not only has near zero gas permeability required for proper plugging of abandoned (or orphaned) oil or gas wells to prevent the leakage of methane to the atmosphere but it also has the necessary mechanical properties to resist the geo-mechanical induced deformations and stresses over multiple centuries.
