Materials curing/conditioning space

The materials preparation area houses the equipment used to condition/cure specimens prior to testing. The following equipment is available in this space:

A salt spraying environmental chamber, WTC/A160, with both temperature (from ambient to 158°F) and humidity (30% to 98%) control for corrosion testing of materials. The test space is 65 x 50 x 31 inch (W x D x H) and the chamber is designed for heavy loads (up to 2,200 lbs) for testing of reduced-scale structural elements

An Ascott corrosion/environmental chamber is available with the following modes of operation:

A moist cure chamber, CSZ ZPHS-64-2-H/AC, for curing cementitious materials under controlled temperature (from -29°F to 374°F) and humidity (10% to 98%) conditions. The test space is 48 x 48 x 48 inch (W x D x H) and the chamber is designed for heavy loads (up to 1,200 lbs) for testing of reduced-scale structural elements.

Two identical ovens, Memmert UF 260 Plus, with a maximum temperature of 572°F. The test chamber dimensions for each oven is 25.2 x 19.7 x 31.5 inches (W x D x H) and the ovens are designed to support a maximum 661 lbs of load each.

A high-temperature electrical furnace is available. It has a chamber of 9 inches width, 9 inches height and 14 inches depth. The temperature ranges from 212oF to 2012oF, or 100oC to 1100oC, with ±1oC accuracy. The time needed to reach 2012oF is 35 minutes.
